Auction House Algarve was founded in 2011 by our resident Auctioneer and Co-Owner Mark Monkman. With a long history of dealing in antiques and collectables, Mark saw a gap in the Market allowing the opportunity to bring the traditional British methods of auctioneering, to a predominantly Expat region in the South of Portugal. Given the Algarve’s ‘melting pot’ nature, we are unique in the items that come to auction, with beautiful consignments from all over the world finding themselves under the hammer here in sunny Southern Portugal.

Capitalising on this gap in the Market, Auction House Algarve has grown to become one of the leading auction Houses in Portugal, with Thousands of clients not just nationwide, but across the Globe. This success is a direct result of our continued commitment to our clients, and ever improving professional service. We are constantly looking to develop and improve our offering through innovation, additional education and technological advancements and are proud to say we uphold some of the highest standards within our industry. Our services can be accessed through traditional means of in-house bidding, but we are also available across multiple platforms as well as our very own mobile application!

Our main facility is based in the charming town of Sao Bras de Alportel; a purpose built facility with over 900m2 of utilised floor space – allowing us to maximise the experience for our bidders and sellers. Within this space, we have every resource we need to offer the unparalleled service we currently provide – with multiple professional photography booths, an array of authentication tools and more than 600m2 of dedicated showroom – not to mentioned some of the best human beings in the business, with specialists in each individual field.
