– A Spanish Closed Bookcase in solid walnut wood, with glazed doors and 2 interior shelves. Featuring highly detailed carvings in high relief – doors flanked by bearded term figures in armour over lions and ribbons, cornice to top above scrolling acanthus leaves in relief with grotesque figures, and dolphins flanking a single deep basal drawer with the winged lion of Saint Mark carved to the front.
Circa 19th century.
Condition: Overall good, minimal wear. Previous insect damage to drawers and sides.
