– A pair of Antique Continental wood sculptures of full size figures of young women, polychrome with gilt hair and elaborately parcel gilt robes with highly detailed folds. Both wall mounted and depicted with hands outstretched and one foot stepping forward, a pleasant expression to the face.
Originally these heavily decorative pieces would have flanked a musical instrument.
Circa 1900.
Condition: very good, surface wear and loss to paint in places. Some signs of repairs – one with a repair to one foot and 2 re-attached toes, and the other with also with 2 re-attached toes.
